Think Inside The Box

When I saw what Michelle Howell has been doing with these Blumebox's on her blog, I knew I had to have them! This is the Short Blumebox in Aqua Marine (a perfect match to Cool Carribean). The box ships flat so I was able to stamp on it before popping it into shape. I used the PaperTrey Butterfly Kisses set with Palette Noir and White Stazon. The surface is slightly slippery so you have to be careful not to smear the images when you stamp them. I also heat set it after stamping to speed up the drying time of the ink. I used a 1" strip of Whisper White for the scalloped border around the bottom. The scallops were created using the Stampin' Up slit punch. The flower image is also from PaperTrey's Butterfly Kisses. I colored each of the flower centers with Cool Caribbean ink and a blender pen and then added rhinestones to each. The "W" is from Stampin' Up's Big Deal Alpha. This Blumebox will be a gift for my sister Whitney's birthday along with a set of monogrammed notecards. Whitney's birthday isn't until July, so I'll have to buy new flowers before then, but that's one of the great things about the Blumebox... it can be re-used! The assembly is super easy! Just pop the box into place (it interlocks on the bottom), fill the plastic bag (that comes with it) 2/3 full of water, and add your fresh cut flowers. Then just tuck the plastic bag inside the Blumebox and it's done! If you're interested in purchasing a Blumebox (or several!), Michelle is selling them on her blog right now! Click here to check out the details of the sale, but you must hurry because the sale ends today at 4pm! I think these would make a great housewarming gift, birthday gift, teacher gift, or wonderful centerpieces for any event! They can be filled with candy, used as a pencil/pen holder... and the design possibilities are endless! Check out the Blumebox website and Michelle's blog for more ideas! Hope you have a wonderful day!

I'm so excited to see this! I won the BlumeBox Michelle was giving away on her blog last week and can't wait to receive it!
I'll post as soon as I "create" with mine - not sure what color she is sending, but it will be awesome, I'm sure!
Thanks for sharing!

I ordered 3 of these. I'm hoping to make something cute.... but I'm HORRIBLE at floral design. I'm thinking about creating something other than a floral container. Her site is really fabulous, and for those of you who haven't checked it out, you should definitely have a look. It's really inspiring!
